Steve asked BJ Kelly to introduce our new members:  Marlene and Bill Smothers have rejoined, Larry Ernest, Jeanie Heath, Teresa Roberts, Connie Edwards and Georgia Tisdale were introduced.
BJ said we need judges for the American Idol contest in November.  She needs someone to be Ryan Seacrest, a Randy, a Simon and a Paula.   Gail Robertson volunteered for Paula. Contestants must be at least 21 years of age, able to lip synch and pay $5.   We're going to have this Big Show at the Re-Up Party November 19th at Pivots.
Sunshine - Marlene and Bill Smothers are here tonight and we're glad. Marlene has been under the weather.  Dot Smith has had surgery and is doing fine. Letha Lysaght had a bad spider bite.  Francis Lee has had tests but not results. Lynn Lee had cataract surgery and Vickie and Robbie got married - Congratulations Vickie and Robbie!
Teresa and Roy are getting married this month.  Gale Robertson said that this is the 3 year anniversary past her lumpectomy - great news!!!
Joe Tucker talked about the newsletter.  Steve thanked Joe for his continued involvement in CSC.  Joe said he has a possible person for taking the newsletter but that December will still be his last month as Editor.
Jeff said that November 6 meeting will feature our annual Chili Cook-off -   bring cornbread and maybe a dessert.  There will be a prize for 1st place.   Jeff said that he needs 1-2 people to help grill chicken for the Re-up Party on the deck at Pivots on November 19.
Web Site - The web site is really helping us get exposure- Thanks Tom and Gordon for your work.
Geechee Blast - Jeff took on the Beer for Sale. Tom Trueblood found another driver because our regular driver could not do it this year.   We have 159 tickets sold and more in the mail.  Harold gave us $200 for Liquid Sunshine. Steve approached Harriett to see if Pivots could donate something.   Harriett gave $100 and 4 JB Pivots T-shirts and several bar tabs - Yeh, Harriett !!
Charlie Leonard asked if we were having T Shirts for sale and we are not.  We will have small shooter glasses at the afternoon shooter party which are souvenirs for our guests to have next year's dates handy all year.  The dates are on the shooter glasses.
Ann Moore said she needs to know who is cooking a pot of grits for Sunday brunch at Geechee Blast.   Please let her know as soon as you can if you're cooking grits.
Ann said she has not had many volunteers yet to decorate for the Christmas Party. She's still in need of help.
Split the Kitty was $132.00 ---- $66 to winner and $66 to Camp Happy Days. Jim Carter won (again)!    He is not allowed to buy any more tickets for the rest of the year to give the rest of us a chance, per Tom Lufkin.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:10 pm
Respectfully submitted, Betty Mathisen for Dot Smith
