Dear Friend,

Thank you again for making 2004 a banner year for helping others who are in need. Because of your generosity nearly 9,000 people in the (Charleston) Tri-County area were served through The Salvation Army programs that provided the following:

  • 2,299 food certificates
  • 21,147 toys distributed to needy children
  • 4,932 gifts distributed at nursing homes, hospitals and prisons
  • 351 volunteers rang bells, dressed dolls and bears, stuffed stockings, and
helped during the distribution at the "Toy Shop"
  • 2059 hours of volunteer service was provided
  • 175 "Feed a Family" responders resulted in $5,685.77 in donations, Our
Christmas Appeal brought in $165,341.73 and $94,736.71 was brought in
through the Kettles at Christmas
The battle against poverty and hunger is still waging and we hope you will rise to this call for help. You once again have an opportunity to contribute to this wonderful effort to serve the less fortunate. Specifically, we need hundreds of volunteers for the following positions and times:
  • Eight volunteers each day to take applications on

October 24-November 4, 2005 9:00-4:30
  • 20 volunteers each day to pack boxes for Thanksgiving on
