This year marks the third shag-a-thon for Hospice of Charleston. Our pledge was $25,000 over a 5 year period to provide an room at the Hospice House. In just two years, we have raised over $18,000. Hopefully, this year with everyone's help and enthusiasm, we will reach our goal. The Hospice House is a beautiful facility. This was built to make the final days easier for families of terminally ill patients. This is a facility where a patient may die with dignity- not at home, and not in a hospital room. The house also provides short term care for patients- when the family needs a break in caring for their loved one. This dream of having a SHAG room dedicated would not have been possible without everyone's help and generosity. Our clubs have lost many to cancer- but who knows what the future may hold- one of us one day may need this facility. I for one, am glad to have been a part of Hospice's dream of making this a reality.
Please come and join all fellow shaggers in the third Shag-A-Thon on August 12th, 2006 from 12 noon until 5 pm at Center Court in front of Parisian.
DJ'S will be Jim Bowers and Reggie Ricks. The Shagtime team will also be here to entertain us all. So come out for a day of fun and dancing.
Hope to see you all there.
      Nancy
