The purpose of the Charleston Shag Club is to preserve and perpetuate our State dance….the Shag. In order to succeed, we seek new members who have heard about or have seen the Shag and wish to join our club to assist us in our efforts to maintain the existence of this most beautiful and vibrant dance. Every prospective member should and will be given the opportunity to join and participate in our club. Although you must be 21 to join the CSC, we both encourage and support the Junior Shag Association (JSA). We welcome and encourage those who have teaching skills to join so that they may help our beginners reach new and exciting levels of the Shag dance. The cost to join our club is minimal so that no person desiring to participate should be excluded for that reason. The Charleston Shag Club attempts to stimulate a close bond of friendship among it's members and enhance each member's loyalty to the club.
