who might not live through the week, but he did and she saw what it did for him. He later passed away as did her husband who also had cancer. Happy Days and Special Times holds a "Renaissance" where parents of deceased children meet and are helped to deal with the trauma of losing a child to the disease. She attended and it was very helpful. She is now part of "the family" and runs the clay modeling and kilns that are part of the crafts program. Being there is sometimes hard for her but is also good to be with kids. We also heard stories from our guides about kids who look forward to Camp so much that it gives them a will to live that they otherwise might not have. Some make it through camp on will alone, sometimes passing away later. On the party scene, quite a few of us joined the Islanders for their annual beach party at Bird Key. Thanks to Alfie Herring and his crew, we had a great day of horseshoes, swimming, boating, fried chicken, cold drinks, and a bit too much sun. We had such a good time there is talk of having another similar outing later, maybe around Labor Day. More later. Two great nights of vinyl records by outstanding DJ's at Pivots. Wow, they did it again. Thanks to Walter and Betty for a memorable event and to their DJ friends, also to Tug for using that wet vac to "unflood" Pivots. By the time you get this we will have had our party at Roxy's lake house on July 23rd. I am sure looking forward to it as I write this. We are receiving money for GeeChee Blast tickets. Don't wait too long. Steve
